May Ranch Family Fun Day

I want to welcome you to the May Ranch Family Fun Day (RFFD). God has been so good this last month and has blessed us more than we deserve that’s for sure. Take a look at the new building and all that’s been accomplished! We’re hoping to occupy that building SOON! Please be in prayer about it that it can happen if God’s willing! We can always use a helping hand if you want to lend it, or money if you’d like to donate to the cause. When it comes to prayer, helping and money, I always figure the more the merrier.
Well the weather’s starting to warm up. In a couple of months the rains will be here and we will be able to start the cycle of life all over again, at least for the ranchers. Everyone should be getting all of their branding done and hopefully everyone has enough water to take them through the dry part of the year. It’s like this every year and the cowman should be used to it but I guess he’ll still worry about the weather and the market prices. That’s just the way it is I suppose!
But have you ever stopped and wondered to yourself, “Why do we worry?” I mean Jesus told us our Heavenly Father is going to take good care of us just like He does the sparrow! He says that all of the worrying in the world won’t add a fraction of an inch to your height or make you live longer! I received a text from a beautiful young mommy this last week and she quoted Colossians 3:15, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.” See, Jesus said that if we trust Him, He will give us perfect peace! And we can have this peace as a church body! All of us working toward one thing. All of us pulling in the races toward a common goal.
This common goal is achievable folks. No matter what it looks like on the outside this common goal can be ours.
Are you wondering why Paul writes in this verse to be thankful? Because if we really truly believe that God is in control of our circumstances and that He’s working all things out for His glory and for our good then we can be thankful for everything that comes our way. We can learn, as Paul did, to be content in every situation (Philippians 4:12). Lord, hasten the day!
God Bless You! Let us know if we can do anything for you. Naomi and I sure love all y’all!

10th Resurrection Day Sunrise Service!

This is Canelo Cowboy Church’s 10th Resurrection Day Sunrise Service! We feel blessed that you have come to join us so early in the morning! 10 years! That’s a decade folks! I wonder how many of us were at the first service we held in Canelo? Y’all been putting up with me for a long time!
As you look around at the new property you can see that the building project at is moving forward! The new building is progressing and things are changing all around us materially. But greater than that I hope you see change on the inside of you and I. What I mean is, that we as followers of Jesus Christ should see Him at work in us every day and I hope that we are growing Spiritually. As that old black preacher once said, “If you is what you was, then you ain’t!!” What he was saying is that as a Christian we should be changing and daily growing in the Lord. Things that used to bother us no longer bother us. Temptations we once gave into we no longer give into them. We don’t need to kick our wives and yell at the dog. Why? Because our lives are being filled by the Holy Spirit and we are being renewed daily!
At Canelo Cowboy Church, we don’t “do” religion. We believe that having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. We also know there is an abundance of churches out there that you could have attended today, so we are glad you chose to attend here! God may have something special that He wants to speak to your heart about. My prayer is that you will allow Him to speak to you and you will listen to His prompting. If you need to talk to a person please find me or someone that knows what a personal relationship with God is and share with them. We’d love to hear from you!
We have great music, fellowship, and food! If you hang around with us for very long, you’ll learn that’s how we roll! Please let me know if you need anything. Naomi and I love you all!

Change is coming soon!

Well my brothers and sisters here we are 3 weeks into 2016 and from the surface it sure doesn’t look like much has changed around here but please hang on! Change is coming soon! The leadership is busy working on the new building and it’s progressing in a behind the scene manner. Very soon folks we are going to see progress at the new Property and we’ll be meeting there before you know it. But there is a lot of paperwork and things that need to be taken care of first.
Dennis and Juli should be in tonight some time! That’ll be a fantastic blessing and a giant leap forward on the building project. It is exciting to me to see a young couple feel God moving in their hearts enough that they will pack up and leave the comforts of home and head out West on an adventure that they have no clue where it will land them in the end. It’s pretty much like a New Testament missionary journey where the missionary’s feel God pulling at their heart to go minister to a people group so they get up and go! Remember when God told Abraham to “Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about (Genesis 22: 1-2).” The Bible says that Abraham got up early the next morning and set out to do what God had asked him to do! No hesitation, no whining and no arguing with the Lord, he just did it.
Would you be willing to do that? Would you be willing to move out if God asks? Are you willing to get out of your comfort zone and do something that God wants you to do? I’m not saying that you need to kill your kid or move across the Nation, but how about teaching a Sunday school class? When we move to the New Property in a few months we are going to need folks to step up and help out in that manner because the church is going to grow and we will have an opportunity to change these kids’ lives.
We need to teach these young people folks because they are our future! All I’m asking for you to do is pray about it and let Him lead you!
Please let me know if you need anything. Naomi and I love you all.

Praise the Lord!

I sure hope everyone had a great week and was blessed. We are one day closer to Christmas and you know what a wonderful time that is around here with the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service and all of that! Good times are ahead for us folks!
And the loan for the new building will close this week sometime we’re hoping! Praise the Lord! How wonderful will that be! Dennis and Juli have their house on the market and they will be out here the first week of January Lord willing. Then we’ll get started on the new building and rocking and rolling there, so maybe we can be in there by our 10th year anniversary in April. Wow, a dream is fixin’ to come true, for me anyway!
As we near the season that we celebrate our Saviors birth I sure hope we can all look back and see how far the Lord has taken us as a church in the last year. We’re growing in numbers and growing spiritually. We’re going to be in a bigger place Lord willing this year so we can go back to one service and all be a family again! It’s just so great to see how God has answered prayers and how He is shaping things around here so He can grow the church and us as His children!
One of the ways He grows us as His children is to allow us to go through hard times. It seems we are more open to His leading and we have a tendency to call on Him when the hard times hit, so He goes ahead and allows them in our lives. I want to be closer to Him but that doesn’t mean I enjoy the hard times. But I know I need them. It’s a catch 22 because I know I need them but I don’t like them but I need them and…so praise the Lord, He’s in control! All we need to do is make Him the center of our world and He can handle the rest!
Please let me know if you need anything. Naomi and I love you all.
