Words from the Pastor

Have you ever wondered what was going on in heaven 2,000 years ago a couple weeks before Jesus was born? Do you think that the angels were rehearsing for their glorious Luke 2:13 and 14 proclamation, “Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.””? It had to be a busy time in heaven don’t you think? And just think about our Savior Jesus, the second Person of the trinity and all that He was thinking about as he prepared to come to earth to do only good and then suffer a harsh cruel death at the hands of those that He came to save. Only to rise from the dead in three days, and because of that you and I can have eternal life! Jesus knew what was in store for Him. He knew He would be rejected and that He would have to suffer and that He would be crucified on a cross. He knew that His Father would turn His back on Him and that He would feel total and utter aloneness and separation from God as He went to hell. But He did it anyway. He suffered all of that for you and me so we could have a way to heaven that up until that time was impossible for us as gentiles to obtain. And that we, as sinners, can now walk right into the presence of God and have a relation with Him. All because Jesus chose to come to earth and humble Himself.
But do you know what also is so amazing to me? That is not where Jesus left it. He gave to us the ability to have the fullness of the Jesus. Read what Paul tells us in Colossians 2:9 and 10, “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.” For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness! We have been brought to fullness brothers and sisters. We have such a promise in this brothers and sisters. The fullness of what Christ has. We can have the same ability to overcome just like Christ did because we have that same fullness! We can overcome, all we need to do ask Him to fill us and give us the strength to be the disciples He calls us to be.
Pray for me and I’ll pray for you! Naomi and I love you all. – Pastor Steve
